5 Boudoir Myths Debunked | North Carolina Boudoir

Learn about the myths behind feeling ‘sexy’ during a session, comparing yourself to other women, how to use boudoir to celebrate, whether or not to get naked for boudoir & more!

“I don’t look like the women in your pictures”

Good! You don’t need to look like someone else. We’re here to capture YOU…who you are, what you love, how unique & amazing you are. The women you see on my website are also everyday women like you & me, but their images came with posing instruction, lighting, angles & coaching. Trust me when I tell you that with the same experience, you could feel like a Queen too.

“Boudoir is just nude photos”

Every session is different & every person has a different level of comfort with wardrobe. We can capture tasteful nudes & bodyscapes during your session, if that’s what empowers you. But we can also capture who you are in any other attire as well. This is completely up to my clients & what they feel best describes them & their comfort level.

“Boudoir is something you just do once”

Intimate portraits are for every season in life. Reaching a milestone birthday, overcoming a hardship mentally/physically/health-wise, bride-to-be, mom-to-be, after becoming a mom, celebrate loving yourself & your body…or just because it’s Thursday & you’re looking to let your inner badass shine! I’m here for it all lady!

“Boudoir is only for certain types of people”

Boudoir is for EVERYONE. That’s the beauty of it. It allows you to open up & fully embrace yourself & see how amazing you are.

“Boudoir is too expensive”

Boudoir photography isn’t just a photo shoot. It is an experience & a journey. I believe that finances shouldn’t hold you back from such a journey, so I offer pre-session & post session payment plans. (Read more on that here).

Prepaying for your session also allows you to add FREE bonuses to your session AND relieves you from worry about payment during & after your session!

*Bonus: “I’m not sexy enough for boudoir”

I’ve never ever seen a rule where you have to be ‘sexy’ for boudoir. Sexy is an attitude…a state of mind. Part of my job is being able to help capture you, as is. If you’re quirky, goofy & love to laugh, then that’s what we’ll see in your images. If you’re passionate, strong, thoughtful person, then we’ll see that too. Most of the ‘sexy’ you see in these images has been faked ;) That’s what good coaching & a knowledgeable photographer gets you!

Are you ready for your journey?
